USCIS Removes 60-Day Rule for Civil Surgeon Signatures on Form I-693 

The USCIS has removed the 60-day validity requirement for civil surgeon endorsements on Form I-693. Previously, the form had to be submitted within 60 days of the signature of the civil surgeon when filing Form I-485. However, the USCIS has now removed this requirement to provide more flexibility to applicants and reduce the burden on civil surgeons. 

USCIS Updates Policy Guidance on Self-Selecting a Gender Marker on Forms and Documents 

The USCIS has updated its policy guidance on self-selecting gender markers on forms and documents. The new policy allows individuals to choose the gender marker that corresponds with their gender identity. This move is aimed at promoting inclusivity and eliminating discrimination against transgender and non-binary individuals. 

Provision Allowing Special Immigrant Juveniles to File Form I-360 in Person Before Their 21st Birthday 

The USCIS has announced that it is now allowing Special Immigrant Juveniles (SIJs) to file Form I-360 in person before their 21st birthday. This provision applies to those SIJs who have aged out of their eligibility due to administrative delays or other reasons. This move will provide relief to those SIJs who were unable to file their applications on time and faced the possibility of being deported.
